The Secret Biography of Lila Schow

I was named after my great-grandmother who, I just found out, apparently had to shave her facial hair every morning!  Uh...thanks mom.  Look, proof!*

Okay, moving on...

Abusing the Google I was able to uncover the truth about "Lila".  I am everything.  I am your reality.  I am your God.  Don't believe me?  (careful, I might smite you).  Check it out.

Lila (Sanskrit: लीला), or Leela, is a monistic concept from Hinduism that describes all reality, including the cosmos, as the outcome of creative play by the divine absolute (Brahman in some Hindu denominations). In Vaishnavism, Lila more simply refers to the activities of God and his devotees.

This explains why I have such a hard time with modesty.

Also, according to some versions of David Schow's biography, I am his niece.  See how cool I am?  Makes you want to buy my books, doesn't it?+  Oh, if only you could!  The strange thing about being a Schow is that you think anyone else with that last name must be related.  But they're not.  Strange.

In addition, it seems I have a line of underwear out.  Man, I'm having a hard time holding back on making jokes about it.

True to the Hindu idea, Lila can be found anywhere:

bullet

As a municipal in the Philippines  "Lila is politically subdivided into 18 barangays" complete with my own government.

bullet

As Flowers.

bullet

As a lake.

bullet

As a school in Brazil.

bullet

As a project for the US Fish & Wildlife Service.

bullet

As a canyon and coal mine in Utah.

One last thing, it's pronounced "Skow" not "Show".  My Danish ancestors were tricky little devils.

* My mom will be so mad that I put this up.  She showed me this photo and said, "Now you know where the women in this family get their jowls from."  And I said, "For the love of God, mom!  Forget the jowls, is that a beard?"

Also, this is not my namesake.  I think it's her mother.  My great-great grandmother.  After a while of looking through photos all I hear is, "bla, bla, bla, shaved every morning."

+ Reading my books should make you feel thusly:
